Memorial Tournament - Tiger Woods Has More Than Enough Game to Win

Rory Mc Ilroy managed just two birdies all day

DeChambeau missed three-foot birdie putts on the ninth and 15th holes. The playoff, which lasted two holes, also included Kyle Stanley and Byeong Hun An. At the place where he has won five times, he can try to be aggressive and see what happens. "I played really, really well".

After hitting his second shot on the par-5 just inside 100 yards, Woods holed out his third shot for eagle - and the crowd went insane. McIlroy missed three birdie chances inside 8 feet. The year prior, in the midst of a five-victory season, he had a third-round 79 and finished 65th.

Woods was another shot behind, and it looked as though he was about to post his lowest score of the year.

But it was Woods that brought out the biggest roars at Muirfield Village Golf Club as he moved within six strokes of the lead.

"I hit it pretty well for having what I'd would call B to B-plus game, " DeChambeau said.

"The weather is going to be a little iffy", Woods said. "Hopefully I can play well like this on the weekend and I've got a great chance of winning this tournament".

"Just keep thinking about those two 3-footers I missed", said DeChambeau, who was at 14-under 202.

Trump jobs tweet shatters decades of protocol, jolts markets
Last year, members of the Trump administration drew criticism for commenting on the numbers too quickly after their release. The jobs report also showed wage gains - mediocre for years - exceeded estimates, rising 2.7 per cent from a year earlier.

Kyle Stanley made four straight birdies and stood on the 72nd tee tied for the Memorial Tournament lead on Sunday, but an unlucky break made his route to the title that much more hard.

Cantlay made two eagles, including a hole-in-one on the par-3 eighth.

Woods was six under for the day and 11 under for the tournament with three holes remaining, but he three-putted the 16th and 18th greens to card a disappointing 68 which he described as the highest score he could have shot on day three.

Englishman Justin Rose needed a win to become world number one but a two-under 70 left him three back in joint sixth.

Niemann, 19, from Chile, and Stanley were 11-under and tied for the lead entering the third round.

Adam Scott is the leading Australian at eight under following a two-under 70, while countryman Jason Day struggled to capitalise on his solid play during the first two rounds.

He still was in good shape to win in just his fifth start on the PGA Tour.
