Dog found dead after cross-country flight

A Delta plane is seen in this 2016 file

When a couple moving from Phoenix to NY arrived at the airport in Newark, New Jersey, they were horrified to find their beloved dog Alejandro dead on Wednesday.

Dellegrazie, who owns the dog with his girlfriend, said he's grasping to understand how his Pomeranian had died while heading to Newark, N.J.

MI media outlets report that the dog was flown in a pet carrier from Phoenix and was headed to Newark. "He's a member of our family".

The dog, traveling by cargo with its family, was found unresponsive in its crate in a cargo shipping facility in Detroit after flying there from Phoenix, Delta's spokesperson said.

Evan Oshan, Michael's lawyer said: "Alejandro was checked on".

The plane made a scheduled stop in Detroit, where Delta says a flight attendant checked on Alejandro at 6 a.m Wednesday.

North Korea says Kim Jong-un will host Syria’s president in Pyongyang
That could explain why newly appointed director of the KPA's General Political Bureau , Army General Kim Su Gil, accompanied Mr. USA officials believe there was some dissension in the military about Kim's approaches to South Korea and the United States.

The airline is "conducting a thorough review of the situation to find out more about why this may have occurred to ensure it doesn't happen again", Delta said in a statement. The spokesman added that Delta offered to conduct a necropsy, but was told by the owner to hold off.

Oshan also represented the owners of Koketo, the French bulldog who was killed on a United Airlines flight back in March.

Delta, in a statement to ABC News, said it's offered to have the dog evaluated by a veterinarian and officials are looking into what happened.

Delta still uses temperature guidelines, aircraft type and other factors to determine whether pets can travel in cargo.

"I think this stretches beyond just pets", Mr Oshan told WXYZ-TV. The flight was going from Newark to St. Louis, but the pet was due to fly from New Jersey to Akron. Pets traveling in the airplane cabin are meant to be stowed under the seat in front of the owner. Days later, a United flight was rerouted after a family's dog was put on a plane to St. Louis instead of Akron, Ohio.

In 2017, according to data from the Department of Transportation, out of the 506,994 animals transported by US airlines, there were 24 pet deaths, 15 injured and one loss.
