Nabil Fekir's agent breaks silence on reported imminent move to Liverpool

Harry Wilson

Nabil Fekir's agent has confirmed that Liverpool are interested in signing the Lyon star this summer but stressed that "nothing is done and other clubs could come in".

Should negotiations progress as expected, Liverpool hope to conduct Fekir's medical later this week before letting him join back up with the France squad.

'I did not leave Marseille [this weekend], I am with my family, but I will be clear, we will go with Nabil to Liverpool or elsewhere when there is an agreement with Lyon and if Jean-Michel Aulas gives the green light, ' Bernes told Le Progres.

Aarons claims that Lyon want a fee in the region of €70m for Fekir, who they value as their best player. "This transfer window can be long".

France will finalise their preparations for the World Cup when they take on the United States on Saturday in their last pre-tournament friendly. We could do with a player like Fekir to help link our midfield and attack, which were disjointed last term, but it doesn't look like he'll be moving to Stamford Bridge, despite our reported interest.

New blood test could be the ‘holy grail of cancer research’
Scientist have developed a simple blood test that could detect ten types of cancer years before sufferers fall ill. However, it was less effective at detecting stomach, uterine and early-stage prostate cancer, the authors said.

Twenty-four-year-old Fekir has played 39 games across all competitions for Lyon this season, scoring 23 goals in the process and attracting the attention from some of the top clubs in Europe.

Bad news for Liverpool fans who will have been getting excited at reports that the Fekir deal was all but done.

Liverpool have already completed one signing this summer, with Fabinho joining from Monaco earlier this week.

While Liverpool's interest is obvious, the club has responded to the above rumour by denying that Fekir is set for a medical. Have your say in the comments section below.
