Pres. Trump won't invite National Basketball Association champions to White House

U.S. President Donald Trump on Friday urged the Washington Capitals to come to the White House to celebrate their Stanley Cup championship but said the victor of the National Basketball Association title would not be invited.

As he prepared to leave for the G7 summit in Canada Friday morning, reporters asked the president his thoughts on James' and Curry's remarks, as well as the ongoing controversy surrounding championship teams visiting the White House. He also said he spoke with a current Eagles player about that team's decision-making process and how it went deeper than disagreeing with Trump's policies.

"I think what you're seeing is- I think the athletes are showing patriotism. through their community service", Kerr told reporters.

Trump also said he won't invite potential National Basketball Association champs the San Francisco Warriors or Cleveland Cavaliers to the White House - days after they said they wouldn't show up anyway.

NBA Commissioner Adam Silver said Friday that United States President Donald Trump announcing he won't invite the 2018 NBA Finals victor to the White House causes "a bit of resignation that this is where we find ourselves". 'It's typical of him, ' James said of Trump.

"I know no matter who wins this series, no one wants the invite anyway", James said.

"For them not to be invited playing our handsome game of basketball ... those women are unbelievable at doing it", he said.

President Donald Trump said Friday that neither team would be invited.

Robert De Niro Drops F-Bomb In Trump Rant On Live TV
Actor Robert De Niro , an outspoken Trump critic, went on a profanity-laced rant against Trump during Sunday night's Tony Awards. The NY Daily News reports that the audience roared with applause and stood up in support of De Niro's profanity-laced tirade.

It is important to note, however, that no Eagles players kneeled during the national anthem last season, TIME confirmed. The Warriors were already the league's best team when Kevin Durant, the NBA's second-best player, joined them as a free agent in 2016.

Essentially, the team just ignored Trump.

He then expressed the "irony" about the Eagles being uninvited to the White House.

Stephen Curry, who's LeBron's opposition on the court, is on board with him on the anti-Trump train. They are "sons of bitches" - and staying in the locker room during the anthem as the National Football League has proposed, Trump proclaimed, is just as bad.

"I agree with 'Bron", said Warriors guard Stephen Curry.

"I think as long as he is in office, the communication and things like that are going to continue to happen", James said.

Trump pointed out that he's had several championship teams at the White House, including the NFL's New England Patriots and the NHL's Pittsburgh Penguins.
