New Delhi wants North Korea-Pakistan nuclear axis addressed

Korean bishops call for prayer amid ‘joy’ after Trump Kim North Korea summit

Before the two leaders shared a lunch with their teams for the first time ever, Trump began to joke around about their weight with photographers.

"Getting a good picture everybody?"

On the eve of the summit, Trump stayed in his hotel but Kim made a decision to take a sightseeing tour of Singapore's hot spots, visiting botanical gardens at Gardens by the Bay and posing for a selfie before making a stop at Singapore's iconic three-tower Marina Bay Sands hotel.

International security expert and COO of Interfor International, Don Aviv, tells Inside Edition that every bit of food Kim Jong Un ate was previously examined by food tasters.

Trump said Kim agreed to shutter a missile engine testing site and to allow the return of remains of American service members lost in North Korea during the Korean War more than 60 years ago.

Aviv said the U.S "use [s] chemical tests and biological tests as opposed to someone having to taste the food". "We're going to have a great discussion and will be tremendously successful".

Kim agreed to the "complete denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula", a stock phrase favored by Pyongyang that stopped short of long-standing USA demands for North Korea to give up its atomic arsenal in a "verifiable" and "irreversible" way. North Korea also wants an end to what it considers America's "hostile policy" and a security guarantee that the USA will not seek to remove the regime.

It appears to reflect a new confidence among officials in North Korea that the country has really been accepted onto the world stage.

"What does it mean to stop war games?" said Ambassador Joseph Yun, who served as the USA special envoy on North Korea at the end of the Obama administration and during President Trump's initial months in office.

"Without Otto this would not have happened", Trump told a post-summit news conference in Singapore.

Shock loss to Scots will worry England, says Agar
Former Durham and Warwickshire batsman MacLeod said Scotland's first worldwide cricket win over England was a "massive statement". England will welcome back Jos Buttler, who was rested for Edinburgh , but are still without the injured Stokes and Woakes.

The seemingly off-the-cuff remarks, which were not written into the joint document signed by Kim and Trump at their summit, stunned South Korea and even came as a surprise to USA forces in Korea, which said that they had yet to receive updated guidance on the execution or cessation of training exercises, including the joint drills scheduled for August.

The declaration took some South Korean and US military officials by surprise - though US Defence secretary Jim Mattis was not among them, with spokeswoman Dana White saying "there were no surprises".

Previous U.S. -North Korea agreements ultimately failed despite being more concrete and demanding of Pyongyang than the one Trump and Kim signed.

The US would suspend "provocative" war games it holds with South Korea.

The official newspaper of the Workers' Party of Korea featured 14 photos covering over half of the front page of its issue yesterday, showing a jovial Mr Kim walking with Singapore Foreign Affairs Minister Vivian Balakrishnan and other Singaporean officials at Gardens by the Bay and Marina Bay Sands hotel.

Trump has in the past condemned it as one of the world's most brutal governments.

That statement, which Trump touted as "very comprehensive", was scant on details, including specific actions and a timeline for the North relinquishing its nuclear arsenal.

Kim has managed to build upon the work of his father and grandfather and secured the highest form of recognition that there is - a bilateral meeting with the president of the most powerful country on the planet.

Mr Trump also said he "absolutely" would invite Mr Kim to the White House. "It was a bad thing, it was brutal, but a lot of people started to focus on what was going on, including North Korea".

Democratic Senator Jeanne Shaheen said, "We can't lose sight of the fact that there are bad, horrific humanitarian issues in North Korea, human rights abuses".
