Michael Cohen Will Likely Cooperate with Prosecutors After Losing Lawyers

Rudy Giuliani one of President Donald Trump's lawyers in the Russia investigation says Michael Cohen Trump's personal attorney is not cutting a deal with federal prosecutors

Cohen's current legal team is expected to stay with him for the rest of the week as they struggle to complete a laborious review of a trove of documents and data files seized from him by authorities two months ago.

Cohen, now with no legal representation, is likely to cooperate with federal prosecutors in NY, sources said.

According to the Associated Press, Cohen has been represented in an FBI investigation of his business dealings since 2017 by Stephen Ryan, a Washington lawyer he initially hired to prepare him for congressional testimony.

This report follows a Vanity Fair story Tuesday that said Cohen is telling friends that he expects to be arrested at any moment.

The unnamed source who spoke to the NYDN characterized Cohen as "very stressed out" about the possibility of an indictment.

Whether or not that's the case (and whether or not Trump would consider a pardon) aside, it is notable that President Trump has reportedly been holding his tongue on Cohen matters because he doesn't want to give him more reason to flip and dig up dirt.

Hurricane Bud strengthens to category 3 off Mexico Pacific coast
However, only one of these "A" hurricanes has reached Category 5 intensity, Hurricane Ava in June 1973, according to NOAA. With maximum sustained winds of 120 miles per hour, Bud was moving northwest at about 7 miles per hour, the centre said.

Cohen's move to switch lawyers is being interpreted by some legal observers as a sign he may be seeking to cooperate with federal prosecutors.

Trump allies view the legal cloud hanging over Trump's former attorney and fixer, Michael Cohen, as at least as ominous as the obstruction investigation.

Cohen will hire a new lawyer for the next phase of the probe, the person said. Phone messages left for Ryan were not immediately returned.

"Attorney-client privilege is dead!"

Cohen has denied any wrongdoing related to the Russian Federation investigation, and in the case playing out in the Southern District of NY. "It's an attack on all we stand for", President Trump said during a meeting with senior military leadership at the White House in April.

The AP reports federal prosecutors in NY have publicly said they are investigating alleged fraud in Cohen's business dealings, but haven't disclosed details.
