At least 5 die when SUV crashes during chase

A auto chase between border patrol vehicles and an SUV carrying 14 people resulted in a auto crash in Big Wells, Texas on Sunday.

Boyd said the vehicle was going more than 100 miles per hour before the crash. Four people were pronounced dead at the scene, officials said.

Five people were taken to San Antonio Military Medical Center, including the driver who is believed to be a USA citizen.

"This is not unusual", Boyd said.

He said his deputies are often involved in chases pursuing people suspected of smuggling undocumented immigrants and drugs.

The passenger, also believed to be a USA citizen, is now in custody.

Footage of the scene showed a charred Chevrolet SUV and several law enforcement vehicles.

Afghanistan thrashed by India in Test debut
But, to do so, they needed a few years of cricket that challenges them more than the T20 format before they played a Test match. With this win, India became the first Asian nation to win a Test match in just two days .

Six patients were taken to San Antonio Military Medical Center in San Antonio, Lt. Edwin Roberts said.

Twelve immigrants were ejected and four died at the scene when the auto crashed and rolled over, according to Boyd.

Border Patrol agents began chasing the vehicle around noon before a Dimmit County sheriff's deputy took over the chase, just west of Big Wells, Boyd said.

Officials said four of the immigrants died in the crash, while nine others were injured.

Boyd said there needs to be a wall built because this is a "real problem" in the area.

Boyd said the driver was known to police, and had been seen in the area "last week", either scouting the area or looking for immigrants to smuggle. Dimmit County is directly north of Webb County and east of Maverick County, which border Mexico.

When asked why Border Patrol agents started the chase, Boyd said, "It's called good police work".
