Heather Locklear hospitalized for psychiatric evaluation

Heather Locklear has been hospitalized for a psychiatric evaluation.

Law enforcement sources tell us a family member called 911 Sunday afternoon to report they were concerned for Heather.

Captain Garo Kuredjian of the Ventura County Sheriff's Office confirmed Monday that both the sheriff's office and fire department responded to a call of a "medical emergency" at the 4900 block of Summit View Drive.

According to the dispatch audio, the caller claimed Heather was acting erratically and threatening to hurt herself. the caller said Heather was trying to find a gun to shoot herself.

The incident is considered a medical issue and not criminal. Even though she wasn't placed under arrest, Heather was handcuffed while on the gurney being transported to the hospital.

Locklear eventually came clean about her demons and was sent to rehab for substance abuse.

Locklear was arrested in February on domestic violence charges following an incident with her boyfriend.

'Her family wants nothing more for her than to be checked into a facility until she finally truly is clean and sober'. Now, one month later, she is back in the hospital.
