YouTube Music launched, will replace Google Play Music - Internet

Australia among first five countries to get new You Tube Music service next week

It is now not clear when YouTube Music will launch in South Africa.

YouTube Premium, which will replace YouTube Red, will cost $11.99 US.

YouTube Music will be available to residents of the U.S., Australia, New Zealand, Mexico and South Korea starting on Tuesday, May 22. It also gives users premium access to a new YouTube Music streaming service.

Google is launching YouTube Music next week, shortly followed by YouTube Premium - a revamped version of its ad-free YouTube Red subscription service with a renewed focus on original programming. If you are a current YouTube Red customer, you can continue to enjoy both services at the price you're paying. The audio-visual app promises "music videos and deep cuts that you can't find anywhere else" suggesting that exclusive content will differentiate YouTube Music from its competitors. YouTube has announced this evening YouTube Red is now becoming YouTube Premium-and it'll soon launch in Canada (!). YouTube Music will cost $10 per month while YouTube Premium will cost $12 and include Music, Ad-free content and premium video content.

Air quality in Delhi beyond severe level for third consecutive day
The Union Environment Ministry says that the situation is likely to remain in Delhi for the next three days. Anti-cyclonic winds from Rajasthan were said to be the reason behind Delhi's air quality decline.

When YouTube's new music service launches on May 22, it'll be the second music streaming service offered by Google and YouTube's parent company, Alphabet.

According to Google, YouTube Music will be for those looking for music, not just to listen to but also watch, making use of YouTube's extensive music video collection. YouTube Music will have a personalized home screen that will dynamically adapt to provide recommendations based on your listening history.

The news sent stocks of music streaming companies Spotify and Pandora lower by about 2 percent on Thursday morning. For now, at least, those subscribers will still be able to access all their purchased music, uploads and playlists in Google Play Music.

YouTube Music will be available for free with ads or ad-free for $9.99 a month, while YouTube Premium will be available for $11.99 per month. YouTube says they look forward to more expansion throughout this year and beyond. From questions about the family plan to Play Music membership, Google has provided us with several answers.
