Saudi Arabia team safe after aircraft's 'technical failure'

Saudi Arabia's official team plane caught fire in midair as they travelled to their next World Cup match on Sunday. The team added that the fire was an "accident" and the players have reached the residence where they are staying until their next match.

Saudi Arabia's soccer federation released a statement on the plane incident and shared photos of the players calmly exiting the plane.

The Saudis preparations were jolted by a mid-air mishap on Monday when the plane carrying them to Rostov suffered a fire in one of its engines.

Footage later emerged of the Saudi Arabian football team safely leaving the plane after landing.
