Charlotte trades Dwight Howard to Brooklyn

Report Nets acquire Dwight Howard send Hornets Mozgov

Dwight Howard's stay with the Hornets will be a very brief one, as Charlotte has reportedly agreed to send the star big man to the Brooklyn Nets in exchange for fellow big man Timofey Mozgov.

Howard averaged 16.6 points and 12.8 rebounds per game in his lone season with the Hornets, but his defensive rating tied a career low and he posted the second-least valuable campaign of his career. From 2004-2014, Howard was named to the All-NBA Team eight consecutive times.

Howard will be 33 in December and is set to play for his fourth team in four seasons.

Mozgov, first through his agent and later on a personal entry on Scorum, expressed his unhappiness with how his playing time vanished last season.

There's A Good Reason Why Trippier Didn't Celebrate After Kane's Goal
To be the best player in the world you have to aim high - you can't aim low - so just put no limits on yourself. I'm guessing that 7pm on a weekday night must be pretty good timing to show them but still, incredible to see.

Dwight Howard is on the move again.

The deal is particularly fascinating because Brooklyn was able to dump Mozgov's contract, which they took exactly one year ago to the day when they acquired D'Angelo Russell from the Los Angeles Lakers. The Lakers signed the veteran Mozgov in the summer of 2016, but he struggled to fit him into their system in the 2016-17 season, leading to his trade to Brooklyn. Charlotte will receive the Nets' second-round pick (No. 45) in Thursday's National Basketball Association draft and a 2021 second-round pick. Allen started 31 of the Nets' final 32 games last season, averaging 10.5 points, 6.4 rebounds and 1.7 blocks on 62.1 percent shooting in 23.8 minutes per game in that span.

The deal is complete, according to Yahoo's Shams Charania.
