Phillies fan injured when Phanatic shoots hot dog into stands

Kathy McVay says she was at a game against the St. Louis Cardinals in Citizens Bank Park Philadelphia Monday night when the Phillie Phanatic rolled out his hot dog cannon. McVay was sitting near home plate and, she says, all of a sudden a hot dog wrapped in duct tape struck her in the face. "My glasses flew", Kathy McVay, a Plymouth Meeting resident, originally told 6 ABC's Sarah Bloomquist about the incident.

The baseball club have reportedly offered her free game tickets when she has recovered, but we're hoping McVay also gets free hotdogs for life. McVay said, "I have a small hematoma in my eye".

The Phanatic mascot launched the hot dog into the stands in between innings.

"It gives people a good laugh, and if that makes somebody chuckle, then that's fine", she said.

McVay went to the emergency room that night for a CAT scan, and has multiple bruises on her face - which requires ice every 20 minutes.

5 dead as SUV chased by Border Patrol crashes in South Texas
It endangers American lives as well as those people from Mexico or other countries coming here for whatever reason they're coming. Dimmit County Sheriff office took up the chase, trying to halt the auto , which was going over 100mph.

McVay added that she didn't sustain a concussion. The team's mascot had just shot it out of a cannon.

Per the report, the Phillies did reach out to McVay to apologize and "the Phanatic feels bad about what happened" (although we're not exactly sure how he explained that sentiment).

After her ordeal, does she have some words of caution for her fellow baseball fans?

McVay expressed a similar notion in offering others this advice about attending Phillies games: "Just to be aware, because you never know".
