UK euroskeptics urge PM May to prepare for 'no deal' Brexit

Theresa May and Nigel Farage

Saturday marked two years since Britain voted 52 to 48 per cent to quit the 28-nation EU.

Residents of Flintshire, home of Airbus's Broughton wing plant that employs 5,000 people, no doubt think the same: they voted 56% in favor of Brexit in the 2016 referendum despite the risk to the biggest employer in the region.

Metropolitan police estimate the People's Vote March had 500,000 attendees.

Earlier this month, she was able to talk her way past a Tory revolt in the parliament that sought a "meaningful vote" to block no deal Brexit.

Recent polling shows a stubborn split among respondents - though there appears a slight tilt against Brexit.

EU business leaders would prefer a free trade agreement (FTA) with the United Kingdom after Brexit than a customs union, according to a survey to be published today.

Liam Fox, the International Trade Secretary, piled on the pressure, insisting no deal remained on the table, telling Sky News: "We've got to be free in the negotiation to say if we don't get the deal we want, there won't be any agreement".

"Work is going on all these things for both the negotiated outcome and if something goes wrong", Davis said.

Strident voices in the pro-Brexit camp insist that there is nothing to lose or fear from exiting the European Union, while the rival camp claims that the economic loss that would ensue and the UK's dwindling stature and influence does not make it worth leaving the bloc.

Luis Suarez Free-Kick Give Uruguay Lead Against Russia
Match-winner against Egypt, Jose Gimenez is out for Uruguay , whilst Alan Dzagoev is still out with a hamstring injury. Two goals in the first 23 minutes and a red card for Russian Federation a little later killed off the game early.

Commenting on the uncertainty surrounding the divorce bill, Anahita Thoms, a trade partner at Baker & McKenzie, said: "It's very clear that, especially German companies, think that Brexit is bad for business".

"The other problem is that we have a Labour leader who is pro-Brexit because he wants to nationalize everything, so we don't have a strong voice from the opposition", Mark said, referring to the Labour head, Jeremy Corbyn.

"The point I make to them is that they should also be making the same case to European governments".

Indeed, this epitomizes the core position of "Leave" supporters: that Europe will agree to key elements Britain's post-Brexit positioning because it is in the former's interest to do so.

Airbus warned it could pull out of Britain with the loss of thousands of jobs, while BMW demanded clarity by the end of the summer.

Business leaders are increasingly concerned that their concerns are being ignored and are stepping up their contingency plans in case Britain crashes out of the European Union without a deal.

"Put simply, a No Deal scenario directly threatens Airbus' future in the UK", Mr Williams said. However, aviation giant Airbus warned on Friday it could pull out of Britain if it leaves the European Union without a deal, while carmaker BMW also warned that uncertainty was affecting the investment climate.

"The vast, vast majority of people, whether they are Leavers or Remainers, just want us to get on and come out this awful European Union super-state", Conservative minister Pete Bone said.
