Ed Sheeran sued over Marvin Gaye's Let's Get It On 'copying' claims

Sheeran's track, "Thinking Out Loud", won a Grammy Award as well as Song Of The Year and Best Pop Solo Performance.

Structured Asset Sales claim the song has the same melody, rhythms, harmonies, drums, bassline, backing chorus, tempo, syncopation and looping as 'Let's Get It On'.

Ed Sheeran is on the receiving end of a monster $100 million lawsuit by a company claiming the singer ripped off a Marvin Gaye classic.

Other defendants listed in the new claim include Sony/ATV Music Publishing, the Atlantic record label and Amy Padge - who co-wrote the song.

Last chance for both to score a World Cup win
England are through to the knockout stage of the World Cup with one game to spare after beating Panama 6-1. The Tottenham striker leads the World Cup scoring charts with five goals in his first two matches.

A massive song by Ed Sheeran is now at the centre of a massive lawsuit. Structured Asset Sales is suing the British singer-songwriter for a whopping $100 million.

The daughter of Edward Townsend has already taken legal action against Sheeran earlier this month, while the family of Marvin Gaye has yet to sue.

Sheeran has already been sued over the song by Townsend's biological daughter and he is now attempting to get her case dismissed, insisting any perceived similarities between the two tracks are coincidental, noting the chord progressions and drum patterns used are "extremely commonplace" in the music industry.
