Late night TV hosts unite to counter Trump punches

Stephen Colbert Jimmy Fallon and Conan O'Brien got together for a sketch about Trump's review of them

After trading remarks on Trump's latest late night insults, Colbert and Fallon loop O'Brien into this cross-network collaboration.

"Hey, lowlife", Fallon says, to which Colbert responds with, "Hey, lost soul".

The three late-night hosts got together after Trump went after Colbert, Fallon and Jimmy Kimmel in a speech at a rally for South Carolina Gov. Henry McMaster on Monday, suggesting they lack talent.

Literally anyone can appear on Colbert's show, even his late night competitors. "The real estate guy who sells steaks?" he asks in disbelief.

'Honestly are these people amusing? "Listen, Mr. President. I will not stand here and let you talk that way about James Corden", he joked.

"Oh. I'm busy having no talent", added Colbert.

Fallon recently apologised for the interview, which led to Trump accusing him of "whimpering " on Twitter and telling him he should "be a man". "He's president?" said a baffled O'Brien, before asking, "Wow, how's he doing?" Colbert and Fallon do have a good late-night relationship that go back for years, and given everything that happened with Conan and NBC we're always impressed to see him involved with anything related to The Tonight Show.

In his monologue following the opening clip, Colbert continued to make fun of Trump, criticizing the Supreme Court's controversial decision to uphold the president's travel ban as well as addressing Monday's rally. "If we're not civil this thing could start to get ugly".

"Hey, low-life!" says Fallon, 43, who seemed to be referring to Trump's reported name for the CBS host at the rally.

The conversation ends with Colbert and Fallon confirming a lunch date.

"The last time someone else tooted Trump's horn it cost him $130,000", Fallon said.
