Heat advisory this weekend through Monday night

Heat Advisory Excessive Heat Watch and Warnings

There are excessive heat warnings from the midwest to east coast due to high humidity levels.

Almost 60 million people across the nation's midsection are under some type of heat watch, warning or advisory from the National Weather Service as the worst heat wave of 2018 arrives. Monday is expected to see the searing heat and high humidity continue, with temperatures again nearing 100 in New York's capital of Albany.

Temperatures will be a touch cooler in the Midwest, but heat index levels will still hover around 100 degrees from Texas to MI.

The same, or actually a bit worse, is happening on Sunday, with a forecasted high of 96 and a heat index of 103.

The National Weather Service issued an excessive heat warning that remains in effect until 10 p.m. and said peak Saturday afternoon temperatures could make it feel like 110-115 degrees. "Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors". Heat index values as high as 99.

High temperatures are expected to remain above 90 in the Harrisburg area through Thursday. "It will be warm and humid with a high into the upper 80s", he said.

Russian Federation hero Igor Akinfeev - 'We were lucky' to beat Spain on penalties
Goalkeeper and captain Igor Akinfeev saved two spot kicks as Russian Federation came out on top 4-3 in the penalty shootout. They were checking the game footage for holding on Pique and Ramos, but they have decided that it wasn't a penalty.

"We'll be looking if a couple areas get into the upper 80s and break it", Priante said. This is unsafe for anyone working outside and for those without air conditioning, it can be life-threatening.

Slightly cooler conditions are expected on Monday as a backdoor cold front approaches from the northeast.

One difference from Saturday, winds will be a bit more brisk at times, gusting to near 20 miles per hour out of the south.

FRIDAY: There will be a 60 percent chance of rain and thunderstorms. This will lead to a chance of showers and thunderstorms in the late afternoon and into the evening.

The normal high for much of July is around 90°.
