Samsung phones are randomly sending photos to contacts

Users have reported their phones have sent

Samsung phones seem to be trying to take over the world, messaging random users' contacts and sending them messages and photos.

"Last night around 2.30am, my phone sent her my entire photo gallery over text but there was no record of it on my messages app".

Drunk dialing and butt-dialing are bad enough, but what if your phone sent some. compromising photos to your contacts all by itself?

Additional owners of the Galaxy S9, S9+ and Note 8 devices have complained about picture dumps, prompting one Reddit user to quip: "Do S9's come with divorce lawyers?" So for Samsung Galaxy users, this means that the best way to now get around the bug is to avoid Samsung Messages entirely or revoke its permission to access your photo gallery. "Might be worth checking logs on your carrier's site, because it happened on my T-Mobile Note8". Errors included scheduled text messages ending up in the wrong threads. The few reports of this bug indicate that the phones are sending the messages without the app recording any trace of an outgoing message. RCS is supposed to improve texting by adding features like group chat, video and GIF support and file and location sharing.

Suffolk girl dies in Gorleston beach 'explosion'
Brandon Lewis, Conservative MP for Great Yarmouth, tweeted: 'Absolutely tragic, thoughts are with family & friends, just so sad'. Summer Grant was playing on the castle when it "cartwheeled" 300 metres down a hill with her still inside.

In a statement, the company said: "We are aware of the reports regarding this matter and our technical teams are looking into it". However, T-Mobile told Gizmodo that the whole thing is "not a T-Mobile issue". Your other option seems to be switching to a different texting app, like Textra or Google's Android Messages app, which thus far appear to be unaffected.

Affected users are encouraged to contact Samsung directly until a fix is issued.

So we're asking - is this affecting you?

For now, Samsung smartphone users are advised to revoke storage access permission from Messages through the device's app settings until the bug can be patched up.
