Luis in for Marcelo, Marquez handed first start against Brazil

Marcelo, who left early in the group stage finale against Serbia because of back spasms, is still uncertain for the match against Mexico.

Danilo is available to play for Brazil against Mexico after missing the team's last two matches in Russian Federation with a right hip injury, but Marcelo is out because of back spasms.

It says Marcelo is "undergoing treatment and showed good improvement", but it did not give a timetable for his recovery.

Filipe Luis will replace him in what will be the only change to the side that beat Serbia in their final group game.

And now Dr Rodrigo Lasmar has revealed that the problems to Marcelo may have come as a result of a hotel mattress.

President Trump closes in on Supreme Court pick; 3 judges top list
Wade , the 1973 case that affirmed a woman's right to abortion , and would weaken President Barack Obama's 2010 health care law. Lee and his brother, Utah Supreme Court Justice Thomas Rex Lee, are both on Trump's list of potential nominees .

"Marcelo has a medical history with this kind of injury", Lasmar said in the mixed zone.

Marcelo has missed games for Real Madrid due to muscle problems in both of the last two seasons.

Brazil's team doctor has offered a weird excuse for why defender Marcelo was substituted during the country's final group match against Serbia on Thursday. It is assumed that the 30-year-old defender felt uncomfortable because of the mattresses in the hotel.

First choice right-back Dani Alves was ruled out of the tournament last month after suffering a knee injury while playing for Paris Saint-Germain.
