Man who asked black woman for ID at pool loses his job

Watch: White man calls cops on black family using community pool — then demands they check mom’s ID

Bloom was later fired from his position at the pool. Bloom, who served as chairman of the Glenridge community's private pool, responds that he asks pool users to see their identification "a couple times" each week.

Afterwards, a spokesman for the Glenridge homeowners association said they "sincerely regretted" the incident, and said Bloom's "escalation" of the situation does not reflect the community's "inclusive" values.

She said he had singled her out because of her skin color.

But Bloom was wrong about his neighbor: Abhulimen owns a house with her husband a few blocks away in the development, according to county property records.

"I feel this is racial profiling", Edwards says in the video.

Bloom described his leaving Sonoco as a "mutual separation".

"Where does it say that I have to show an ID to use my own pool", the woman told police in the video.

Edwards explains that the only way she was able to get into the pool was with the key card, adding that she wouldn't have climbed the fence to get in because she has a baby.

A statement from Bloom's attorney states, "When violations of these regulations occur, it is Mr. Bloom's job to either address and correct the violation or remove the member from the pool".

In a statement, Winston-Salem Police Department said officers "maintained neutrality" when they arrived and spoke with Bloom and Abhulimen, and ultimately determined that Abhulimen "had a pool access card which did in fact provide her proper access to the swimming pool".

Croatia defeat host nation Russian Federation on penalties to reach semi-final
Just moments later and the visitors had a corner and then a goal as defender Domagoj Vida headed home from the set piece. Speaking on RTÉ Television, Hamann said: "They'll be going into the semi-final full of confidence".

No crime was committed, according to WSPD.

The incident has garnered national attention. Besides all the other racist things that don't reach viral internet status, there's been #BBQBecky and #PermitPatty, and even residents who called the police on a black firefighter doing his job.

"It doesn't say she has to show an ID anywhere", a witness said.

A white man has resigned as chairman of his pool and is no longer employed by his company after a video went viral capturing the moments after he called police on a black neighbor at the pool. After this, the officer asked if he could borrow her pool card to demonstrate to Bloom that it was valid.

The video comes about a week after a white woman allegedly assaulted a black teenager and told him and friends "they did not belong and they had to leave" a swimming pool in SC.

"They kind of make their way around sometimes... but that's good enough for me today", Bloom told the authorities.

In the video, Edwards can be heard repeatedly asking Bloom to apologize, but he ignored the request. "He called the police to make sure that the interaction didn't escalate", said Vermitsky.

"He asked for my address". When the officer asked Bloom if he needed anything else, he replied, "A form of ID would have been helpful to validate".

The questioning eventually led Abhulimen to call what was happening racial profiling, and Bloom chose to dial police to allow a "neutral third party" to resolve the situation.
