All 12 boys, their coach rescued from Thai cave

Divers rescue fifth boy from flooded Thailand cave

The plight of the boys and their coach has drawn worldwide attention since they became trapped when they went into the cave after soccer practice on June 23. On Monday, four more were rushed to a hospital.

Officials said they were thankful to Musk for his help but said there was no chance of using the mini sub to rescue the remaining boys. Monsoon flooding blocked off their escape and prevented rescuers from finding them for nearly 10 days. Doctors were being cautious because of the infection risk and were isolating the boys in the hospital. They eventually found a dry landing spot, where they waited for nine days before being found by two British divers.

Officials have not been commenting on the rescue mission as it has been taking place, so it was not clear what condition those brought out on Tuesday were in.

The mood was in stark contrast to the glum atmosphere at the site last week, especially after the announcement of the death on Friday of the former Thai navy Seal Saman Kunan, who died while placing air tanks in the cave. The rescue effort is slowed somewhat by the fact that the team must replenish supplies and oxygen tanks that line the 2.5-mile route out of the cave.

Mr Narongsak said he was grateful for Mr Musk's support but the equipment was impractical for the rescue mission.

"We all clapped and cheered", he said.

Heavy rain started falling as soon as the four were removed from the cave. Dr Jedsada said they were uncertain what type of infections the boys could face "because we have never experienced this kind of issue from a deep cave".

So much to admire: "the perserverence shown by the fearless boys and their coach, and ability and determination from the rescuers". "Today they are really catching a break from the weather" of the rainy season, Tracy said. Today, you get some good rest.

Who are the boys and their coach?

Eleventh person rescued from Thai cave on third day of operation
Authorities have said the mission could take up to four days to complete and heavy rain is forecast in the coming days. Medical officials told reporters that they're healthy, fever-free, mentally fit and "seem to be in high spirits".

The drama has captivated people worldwide as cave experts grappled with the problem of how to free the young, malnourished boys, some of whom couldn't swim, from a flooded cavern as monsoon rains threatened to raise water levels even further.

Officials said the rescued boys had not been identified out of respect for the families whose sons were still trapped. Musk said the submarine is expected to arrive in Thailand around 11 p.m. Monday, local time.

Then on Tuesday afternoon multiple sources involved in the operation said three more had been escorted out.

The Thai Navy Seals, who are leading the rescue effort, confirmed the rescue of the ninth boy.

"It is certainly a risk and can take some time to manifest itself and make its presence known", said Andrew Watson, a specialist on rescues from mines and floods trapped. The rescued boys are in quarantine, BBC News reports. A veteran Australian journalist with decades of experience in the region said the feeling on the street was "pretty happy" and subway journeys home had been lively as news was consistently breaking in the evening.

Meanwhile, Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha dismissed rumours on Tuesday that the boys had been drugged to facilitate the operation, saying the children had not been given anaesthetic.

"I'm quite emotional as a father - everybody has this feeling because we feel like it's our children who are inside the cave".

If the boys do show signs of PTSD, Adesman said the best treatment available would be form of psychotherapy called trauma focused behavioral therapy. Some had infections but otherwise all of them were in good health.
