Fortnite | Season 5 Announcement Trailer - Nintendo Switch

As expected, the biggest changes are within the map.

Today, Season 5 launches and Epic Games has given us our first official information on what to expect.

As seen in the trailer, things like a viking ship, a llama piñata, a burger restaurant mascot, and an Easter Island stone head have appeared around the Fortnite map, adding new obstacles to the world and mixing up areas that have stayed mostly unchanged. There are also two brand new locations to explore: Paradise Palms and Lazy Links. We also know the update will add in the two skins featured in the image below, which seem to support the theory that the update will be themed around multiple worlds and time periods colliding. The new vehicle is called the All Terrain Kart (ATK) golf cart. It looks like a sort of off-road golf kart, which is no less than you'd expect from Fortnite. These Rifts act as mini portals that drop you into the same area from the sky, providing a quick escape route if an enemy squad has you pinned down. If you had the Season 4 Battle Pass you'll get some free levels on this one to kick start your progress, but there's also a change this time to how challenges are handled.

Didier Deschamps credits France's effort in defence for win over Belgium
The France midfielder took to Twitter shortly after France beat Belgium late Tuesday to advance to the World Cup final. We savour [the win] a little, but we must now focus on the final.

For now, keep reading for details on how to complete the "hard" "Follow the treasure map found in Risky Reels" challenge. Progressive challenges no longer run out at the end of a season, with players able to complete them at their own pace rather than having to rush. Shotgun spread is now consistent with no random variation, the suppressed SMG has been amended to fall in line with other SMGs and the hunting rifle aim assist has been reduced to match other sniper rifles. This will set you back 950 V-Bucks.

There's also Road Trip tier rewards (similar to Blockbuster challenges from last season) as well as Drift Challenges.
