Cristiano Ronaldo deal with Juventus has Fiat workers planning strike

Workers at a Fiat Chrysler plant in Italy have chose to go on strike following their largest shareholder's decision to spend a whopping £99.2m for the transfer of Cristiano Ronaldo to Juventus.

Since Cristiano Ronaldo signed for Serie A giants Juventus he had not uploaded a picture to his social media accounts.

"The property should invest in auto models that guarantee the future of thousands of people rather than enriching only one", the union said in a public statement.

The union urged Fiat owners to invest in its workforce to bolster the finances of "thousands of people instead of only one".

Juventus would need to sell before they can add to their squad following suggestions that they are looking to offload one of their strikers to fund Ronaldo's move. That means more sponsors, more TV money and more prize money, " he told the BBC.

Reports claimed that Ronaldo's actual reason to leave Real Madrid was due to his unhappiness with those involved in the hierarchy of the club. Portugal made the last 16 of the tournament, in stark contrast to Italy, who failed to qualify for the first time since 1958.

Italy's Agnelli family, represented by an investment holding company called Exor, own 29 percent of Fiat and 64 percent of Juventus.

Workers at the auto company's Melfi plant in southern Italy will walk off the job at 10 p.m. Sunday and remain on strike until 6 p.m. Tuesday, BBC News reported.

Cristiano Ronaldo's big pay day didn't sit well for some Fiat employees who plan to hold a strike in protest of the owner's purchase of the soccer star.
