Russian Intelligence Officials Indicted On Hacking Charges

In the most detailed USA accusation to date that Moscow meddled in the presidential election, a federal grand jury said Russia's military intelligence agency officers covertly monitored computers of Clinton's campaign and Democratic campaign committees, and stole large amounts of data.

The indictments accuse officials from the GRU's so-called Unit 26165, which is dedicated to hacking and cryptoanalysis, of targeting DNC staff, stealing usernames and passwords, and using those credentials to gain a great foothold into the committee's email accounts and other systems. WikiLeaks posted many hacked Democratic documents.

The indicted Russians have also been accused of hacking into the software used by computer companies that run the U.S. elections.

"At the heart of [the indictment] is criminal activity by the Russian government", he said.

Friday's indictment shows the lengths the Russians allegedly went to in order to defeat Hillary Clinton, thereby aiding Donald Trump's campaign.

'President Trump must be willing to confront Putin from a position of strength and demonstrate that there will be a serious price to pay for his ongoing aggression towards the United States and democracies around the world.

"It is the hardest thing about my entire time in government to defend", a former senior Obama administration official involved in White House deliberations on Russian Federation told the Washington Post in 2017.

The Kremlin denied anew that it tried to sway the election. "The Russian state has never interfered and has no intention of interfering in the US elections", Putin's foreign affairs adviser, Yuri Ushakov, said Friday. The deputy attorney general added that the defendants worked for two units of the Russian intelligence service, the GRU. But GRU is part of the state machine, and their participation would indicate that Putin was closely involved in the effort.

There is only 1 Blockbuster video store remaining in the U.S.
For years now in Alaska, announcements have cropped up every few months that another Blockbuster will shut its doors. According to The Oregonian , the stores' manager Kevin Daymude will not offer any rentals beyond Sunday night.

Who were the Russians indicted?

The indictment says July 27 was the first time Clinton's personal office was targeted. The president said he will ask Putin during the meeting if Russian Federation interfered with the election.

Mr Rosenstein said the conspirators used fictitious online personas, including "DCLeaks" and "Guccifer 2.0", to release thousands of stolen emails. By the time Trump made his speech, the Russians had already successfully hacked the emails of John Podesta, the campaign chairman. Private speeches she gave to financial industry firms were particularly damaging within the left wing of the Democratic party and among independents frustrated with the influence of Wall Street in politics. "The Conspirators, posing as Guccifer 2.0, also shared stolen documents with certain individuals". "The person responded, "(p) retty standard".

He said there was no evidence that the hacking changed any vote count. This single slip-up allegedly enabled the spies to enter not only her computer, but the DCCC server and the computers of the Democratic National Committee as well. The charge that Russians carried out the email theft is not a terribly surprising one, nor does it by itself suggest serious legal jeopardy for President Trump or his associates.

A dozen Russians have been criminally charged with hacking and leaking the emails of senior Democrats during the 2016 presidential election campaign, it was announced on Friday.

Hermitage Capital CEO Bill Browder on President Trump's upcoming meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin and why he opposes Germany's gas pipeline deal with Russia.
