France's World Cup team given heroes' welcome in Paris

Macron who used to play left-back in university football teams had met the squad before they left for the competition urging them to return home with the famous golden World Cup trophy

Kylian Mbappe, the 19-year-old French professional footballer, the forward who plays for Paris Saint-Germain (PSG), is reportedly donating everything he earned from the FIFA World Cup 2018 towards charity.

A total of 292 people were taken into custody across France following countrywide celebrations for France's World Cup championship according to French daily Le Figaro citing the Interior Ministry.

Almost 3,000 guests were received in the Elysee gardens, including around 1,000 youths from local football clubs such as Bondy, the gritty Paris suburb whose towering housing blocks produced rising star forward Kylian Mbappe.

France wonderkid Kylian Mbappe believes Pele is still the greatest of all time at the World Cup after he equaled the Brazil legend's record of scoring in the final as a teenager.

May narrowly avoids defeat in parliament on European Union trade laws
But former transport minister Mr Hammond insisted its provisions were "entirely in line" with Mrs May's Brexit White Paper. The crucial vote came moments after the Government went down to defeat by 305-301 over medicines regulation.

Among the changes, station Victor Hugo became "Victor Hugo Lloris", named after the team's captain and goalkeeper, whose second half mistake gave Croatia faint hopes of a late comeback. The president seemed a little surprised by the request but followed along. A highly skilful player, Mbappe is also known for his excellent dribbling ability.

Joy over the victory brightened the Monday morning commute in Paris, with young people in cars still singing and shouting in celebration.

Flessel, the sports minister, told Europe-1 radio that the World Cup victory allows France's youth - like those in the poor suburbs where numerous players grew up - "to dare to believe in their dreams".

"You'll automatically learn how to lead a team", Beckenbauer said. The victory came at a time when many French were in need of good news. France has suffered years of tension and self-examination since a series of attacks by Islamist gunmen during 2015 that left more than 140 dead, including 89 killed in the Bataclan theatre in Paris.

In a dramatic match on Sunday night in Moscow, France won 4-2. Broken shop windows and signs of looting lined a section of the Champs-Elysees.
