New Mario Kart 8 Deluxe update brings Breath of the Wild items to the race course

The latest update for Mario Kart 8 Deluxe has arrived on Nintendo Switch, and it's brought a special guest to the party. Nintendo said it will add more compatible titles in the future. This morning another nice surprise hit the track. While this update doesn't add a whole lot more to Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, it's cool to see that Nintendo is still updating the game with free content like this so far after release.

So, will this be enough to prompt a return to Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, or were you hoping for some more expansive DLC?

The new update adds in Champion's Tunic Link as a new playable character, as well as adding Link's Breath of the Wild DLC motorcycle to the game. Breath of the Wild, Link outfit is upgraded with this snazzy blue number once he has a recovered a memory and realizes he is in fact over 100 years old. Outside of the new content, the patch also comes with a few "gameplay revisions", according to Nintendo. Yes, none other than Link from Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild is going to be burning rubber, along with Mario and other Nintendo characters.
