It is expected that after today's launch of the satellite constellation network will increase to 65 from 75 planned. This was the seventh of eight Iridium launches contracted out to SpaceX. European satellite manufacturer Thales Alenia Space is the prime contractor for the satellites, working with Northrop Grumman Innovation Systems to integrate the satellites in Gilbert, Arizona. The Hawthorne-based company has another launch scheduled for next Thursday to carry an Indonesian satellite into space.
