Leaked iPad Pro schematics reveal mysterious new connector

The third phone Apple is rumored to launch this year, the 5.8-inch iPhone, isn't shown, but it's likely to be more or less identical to the current iPhone X.

While rumours about the next generation iPhones are doing rounds of the Internet, there are some eagerly waiting for information on the next generation iPad Pro models - Apple's flagship tablet range.

Japanese rumour mill Macotakara has leaked supposed dimensions, design features and Face ID functionality for the next iPad Pro release.

According to a new report, Apple's brand new 2018 6.1-inch LCD iPhone model will feature a "Full Active LCD" panel which would essentially allow Apple to deliver a device with extremely narrow bezels. The new 10.5-inch iPad Pro is said to measure 247.5mm tall, 178.7mm wide, and 6mm thick (a reduction from the current size of 250.6mm x 174.1mm x 6.1mm).

Stock shock unlikely to ruffle Zuckerberg's leadership in Facebook
Facebook shares fell another 0.8 per cent on Friday, closing at $US174.89 on the Nasdaq. As a result, the company's market value dropped $148 billion.

A brand new story out of Japan says that Apple will use an exciting screen technology on the 6.1-inch iPhone, just as we had suspected all along. The end result is that the upcoming iPad Pro will have smaller bezels all around; this unfortunately also results in the removal of the audio jack for the large iPad. That being said, this will be first time that an iPad will have a Face ID support. It could also make Face ID work in landscape mode, which would solve a big problem.

As September comes closer, new reports about Apple's iPhone and iPad devices are surfacing.

This would be a very interesting move for Apple, as it would require a significant shift away from using the iPad Pro in landscape. The setup could be placed somewhere near the Lightning connector.

While most of the recent Apple rumors and speculation have focused on this year's iPhone lineup and the addition of a fullscreen LCD model, there's reason to believe we'll also be seeing new iPad Pro models for 2018.
