Android users get YouTube's dark mode

YouTube Dark Mode Android

The feature was first rolled out for desktop last year, and it was followed by iOS in March this year. The Dark Mode has become very popular recently due to the effect it has on the user's eyes especially during the night. For desktops and laptops, switching on the dark theme is similar to that on Android.

With the dark theme applied, the app's background, settings, search pages, as well as the minimized video player will be getting the dark gray treatment.

The "Dark Mode", which converts Youtube's content to a dark background on white text is finally arriving on Android platform. Just like it is in the iOS version, users can toggle on or off in the Android app's Settings.

Although the feature has not received broad release, yet, some users have spotted it on their settings.

The violence was an unnerving reminder of the tensions that pervade the southern African nation. Police spokeswoman Charity Charamba said the three people killed were yet to be identified.

YouTube for Android finally rolled out a dark mode over the weekend, months after it came to iOS. Dark mode, according to YouTube, is created to "cut down" on glare and let you take in the true colors of the videos you watch. The dark version was to reduce stress on the eyes generated by brighter screens used in dark rooms.

Dark mode has been in the making for more than a year altogether. Now, activate the toggle switch to turn the new feature on. "We quickly concluded that the way most people would expect themes to work and the way Dark Mode works were fundamentally different".

The lucky user said he simply went to bed and, on waking up, the YouTube app has changed.
