Tim Allen’s rebooted show won’t reveal whether character is a Trump supporter

Last Man Standing is losing a couple familiar faces in the transition from ABC to Fox, but it sounds like the show will gain a new one.

But Mike Baxter probably isn't a vocal defender of President Donald Trump, Allen told TV critics Thursday.

Allen chimed in teasingly, saying, "Oh yes, we will".

That lead to a backlash from some cast members, the network and some fans.

In a surprising turn of events, the writers of Last Man Standing were actually preparing for Hillary Clinton to win the 2016 election.

Presumed US remains from site of famous Korean War battle
The repatriation was part of an agreement Trump and Kim reached at their historic summit in Singapore in June. Experts say positively identifying the decades-old remains could take anywhere from days to decades.

The show proved that audiences were still willing to watch even though Barr has always been very open about her conservative beliefs, which were also shared by her character. "We really thought it was canceled too soon and it was more about ABC wanting the opportunity to program Friday night with its own studios". "We consider ourselves a family show with a traditional character in the center of it". Asked whether the network was right to cancel Ms. Barr's show, he replied, "They had to do what they had to do and it's their decision".

When asked if there was any concern about how much time has passed since FOX picked up the show from ABC, Newman said he believes "it's still pretty fresh in peoples' minds". While he concedes Mike Baxter is "a conservative Republican", he says Trump's administration and policies won't be a topic of conversation on the show: "I don't think we're going to address it one way or the other". "When we did see the success of Roseanne, which really reminded us that a family comedy with a strong point of view and strong central character that would play well with the middle of the country, can be a pretty powerful show to have". However, when it comes to ABC's decision to cancel Roseanne, Allen said, "They had to do what they had to do and it's their decision". "Now we get the news from Fox that it's time to get back out on that diamond - hell yes, I'm excited!"

Speaking to reporters Thursday, Newman echoed Allen's description of his character as a centrist and said that producers weren't planning on portraying him as a Trump supporter.
