Browns trade WR Corey Coleman to Bills

Browns trade former 1st-round pick Corey Coleman to Bills

The Buffalo Bills are working to supply their quarterbacks with more weapons, as ESPN's Adam Schefter reports they pulled off a trade with the Cleveland Browns to acquire former first-round pick, Corey Coleman.

He took a 2020 seventh round pick for the 2016 No. 15 overall selection late Sunday night.

With the Browns already minus Josh Gordon (personal issues) and Ricardo Louis (neck surgery) in the receiving corps, Coleman understood he had an opportunity in training camp to show the kind of player he can be at the National Football League level.

"I feel motivated. Everybody wants to see, so I'm just working each and every day, putting my head down, just going after it, man".

The Bills now have Coleman, Kelvin Benjamin, Andre Holmes, and Zay Jones as their starting wide receivers, but they will need to find a balance between their front-runners.

Corey Coleman is getting a fresh start. "I don't know all - what went right or wrong there".

The 24-year-old has been limited to 19 games through his first two seasons because of injury. He has 56 catches for 718 yards and five touchdowns in his two-year career.

Coleman, who was traveling to Bills camp in Pittsford, New York Monday morning, missed a total of 13 games over his first 2 National Football League seasons after suffering a broken bone in his right had in 2016 and 2017.

For GM Brandon Beane it's the second time in just under a year in which he acquired a wide receiver who was a former first-round pick. The Browns acquired that pick when the Eagles traded up to draft quarterback Carson Wentz.
