Newcastle set to unveil Rondon on Monday

Muto-Newcastle

Newcastle boss Benitez is desperate to add to his squad before the transfer window slams shut on Thursday and he has revealed that his players are just as frustrated as him with Mike Ashley's apparent refusal to invest in new signings.

Benitez then said of Newcastle's fans: "They have to be concerned".

Allardyce, who had a brief six month stint as Newcastle boss during the 2007/2008 season, believes Rafa is a fearless man to air his grievances with his clubs board in public.

"When things are not going well off the pitch you can see a reflection on the pitch", Benitez told the Guardian after this week's 4-0 preseason defeat to Braga.

Speaking to talkSPORT, Allardyce claimed that Benitez would have to be extremely aware of what his actions could entail before making such comments - and felt that no other manager would have employed such tactics.

Talks broke down between the two clubs, with Newcastle keen on Rondon but were unable to spend the £16 the Baggies are demanding due to Mike Ashley's tight pockets.

Vintage plane's crash in Switzerland kills all 20 people on board
Twenty people died after a vintage World War II aircraft crashed into a Swiss mountainside, police said on Sunday (Aug 5). The 20 Minutes newspaper quoted a witness who was on the mountainside at the time of the crash.

Their return to the Premier League came thanks to the astute managerial skills of Rafael Benitez, who managed to deliver a net surplus of over £40m in transfer fees while securing promotion.

"You see the teams that have been promoted, the money they are spending".

"So doing that as a manager in today's world is extremely unsafe; I couldn't see anybody else doing that".

Benitez has made no secret of his frustrations with what's taking place behind the scenes at St James' Park and is reportedly refusing to sign a contract extension with the Magpies until certain demands are met.

"Walking is another matter".
