Palace’s Wilfried Zaha sets his sights on Chelsea move

Daniel Levy Chairman of Tottenham Hotspur during the Premier League match between West Bromwich Albion and Tottenham Hotspur at The Hawthorns

A former Manchester United attacker reportedly has his heart set on joining Chelsea in this transfer window.

'I spoke to Wilf yesterday and he certainly gave me no indication it was true about wanting to quit the club, ' Hodgson told talkSPORT. "In fact, we were talking about how good the new signings were and how they would help us".

The thing with Wilf is very simple. Of course, he is, he's a top-class player and I'm sure there are many clubs, not only in England but in the rest of the world, who would like to have him.

Spurs fans' hopes of signing him were given a boost recently when Zaha uploaded a cryptic Instagram story, in which he wrote that "today is the day I make a change with everything".

According to a report from Spanish media outlet Marca, Valencia are thought to be very interested in signing Leicester winger Demarai Gray, but surely Tottenham should be challenging the La Liga club for his signature.

Ivory Coast global Zaha impressed with nine goals and made five assists in 29 games in the Premier League last season to earn rave reviews for his performances.

"A few years have moved on and he's established himself even more as one of the most talented players in his position in the league". His improvement over the last three seasons has been so astounding that he is now considered to be among the best attacking players in the Premier League.

"Not only has he played wide for Roy but upfront, down the middle, and he's been successful".

A switch to Everton fell through earlier in the summer when Zaha decided he wanted to remain in London.
