Apple kicks Alex Jones and Infowars podcasts from iTunes

Apple Removes Info Wars Podcasts

Jones did not respond to a request for comment on Monday. Facebook took down Jones's personal profile for 30 days and removed four videos it said violated the social media company's community standards.

Facebook confirmed Monday that it removed four pages promoting the controversial conspiracy theorist and his content.

All episodes from five out of the six podcasts produced by Jones' company InfoWars were removed by Apple from their iTunes and Podcast platforms on Sunday, including the Alex Jones Show and War Room.

Earlier this summer, Google's YouTube site suspended Jones' content for 90 days because it violated its graphic content policy.

Jones says his shows, which are broadcast on radio, YouTube and other platforms, reach at least 70 million people a week.

Facebook Inc (FB.O) announced on Monday that it had removed four pages belonging to US conspiracy theorist Alex Jones for "repeatedly posting content over the past several days" that breaks its community standards.

Jones' presence on Facebook is also taking a hit, as the social network has announced the removal of four pages associated with the host ad his shows.

"The establishment is making its move against free speech here in America", said Jone at the time.

Michael Jordan says 'I support' LeBron James after Trump attack
While speaking at the TCA summer press tour on Monday, David Nevins, Showtime's president, and CEO made the announcement. James is behind a three-part documentary series, " Shut Up and Dribble ", announced Monday by Showtime.

Jones is infamous for his conspiracy theories, and you can be sure that anyone who religiously garners information from InfoWars must be filled with hatred towards a particular race, religion, or sex.

Youtube has a ban against hate speech and Alex Jones has been broadcasting conspiracies that are based on hate for years.

Apple deleted most of his podcasts and a spokeswoman said that the company "does not tolerate hate speech" and publishes guidelines that developers and publishers must follow.

While the ban cuts off a popular way to watch Infowars' videos and a revenue stream, Jones' outlet makes most of its money by selling nutritional supplements on its own website, where viewers can also find other versions of the channel's videos. "When users violate these policies repeatedly, like our policies against hate speech and harassment or our terms prohibiting circumvention of our enforcement measures, we terminate their accounts".

Facebook followed suit on Monday, removing the InfoWars page along with three other offshoot pages for "repeated violations of Community Standards".

"We believe banning these Pages would be contrary to the basic principles of free speech", Facebook posted in response to a question from CNN reporter Oliver Darcy, who had been pressing the company on why it continued to allow "Infowars" on its platform.

The theories he has promoted include that the September 11, 2001 attacks on NY and Washington were staged by the U.S. government.

"Last night's purge was a coordinated effort and had nothing to do with enforcing hate speech rule", Jones said on his talkshow. It said when a page "surpasses a certain threshold of strikes, the whole Page is unpublished".
