Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho left bemused by Paul Pogba remarks

Pogba Pen

Manchester United's Paul Pogba gestures during the game against Leicester City at Old Trafford August 10, 2018. There is certainly no shortage of news topics to discuss today, so let's take a spin through the latest news and notes items making the rounds on the internet right now.

Two years after returning to Old Trafford from Juventus in a world-record deal, the 25-year-old is reported to be so unhappy that he has informed executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward of his desire to leave. "I always give my best for the fans, for the teammates and for the people that trust me".

Pogba replied: "There are things. and then there are things that I can not say otherwise I will get fined".

Barcelona manager Ernesto Valverde did, however, refute the claims that Pogba has been shortlisted as the "Iniesta replacement".

United's season got off to the ideal start on Friday night as Mourinho's men beat Leicester at Old Trafford.

'I actually like the signings Jose Mourinho has made, they're more along the lines of the players I'd like to see at this football club'. The truth is that there are 20 days remaining in the transfer window.

PGA Championship final round updates as he moves close
Yes, it is a course (where) you can make birdies, but I just think this afternoon there's been a couple of big numbers as well. The Show-Me State has been showing up big time for the PGA Championship at Bellerive Country Club.

The move is said to be a recognition by the club hierarchy of 'the need to modernise in an era when managers are often in situ only for the short term, ' with Mourinho now the second longest serving United manager in a generation.

"I think it's the last time we speak about it, it's over, finished, the market is closed and no more talk about it."
I think we are more the head coach than the manager.

"When you have everybody with you, everybody next to you, you know they want to fight for you, obviously it's going to be easier", he said. "We play against a team that invest more than us".

"Forget the name, the history, the shirt, every match is hard".

Interestingly, club boss Mourinho has refused to applaud him after winning the World Cup in Russian Federation, preferring to demand from him not lose focus when it comes to club duties.
