Manchester United want Jerome Boateng on loan only

Man Utd transfer news Bayern Munich Jerome Boateng

Manchester United target Jerome Boateng is poised to resurrect his move to Paris Saint-Germain. It's a deal that many had expected to go through with the Premier League outfit so desperately needing a central defender but it's a move that failed to materialise.

Jose Mourinho's side reportedly lodged a £22.5m bid for the World Cup victor on Tuesday after moves for other targets hit the buffers, but were promptly told that it would take twice that to tempt Bayern to cash in.

The Bayern Munich defender spoke to United boss Jose Mourinho earlier this week to explain he was honoured by United's interest in him but would not be moving to Old Trafford. But, their reported £22.3 million bid was quickly knocked back by Die Roten, who were looking for double the amount.

Bayern Munich stars and coach Niko Kovac do not want to let go of central defender Jerome Boateng even as the club management is in favour of selling the 29-year-old German worldwide this summer.

It is unclear if Boateng is keen on working with Mourinho at Old Trafford, with some outlets claiming the German rejected United for "footballing reasons". Bayern value Boateng at £44m.

Trump condemns racism, year after Charlottesville
"The riots in Charlottesville a year ago resulted in senseless death and division", he stated . The police chief said he wants a day in which "Nobody gets injured and nothing gets broke".

"Harry Maguire did great at the World Cup", he told the Mirror.

Boateng also missed a number of games at the beginning of the 2017-18 season due to another hamstring problem.

On August 24, they will take on league runners-up TSG Hoffenheim in their 2018-19 Bundesliga curtain-raiser.

During a three-month injury break in 2016, Boateng was accused by Bayern officials of neglecting his recovery to participate in too many celebrity events and follow individual marketing endeavors. "He has to come back down to earth", Rummenigge had said.
