Omarosa’s White House recordings fuel Trump woes

Former White House staffer and TV celebrity Omarosa Manigault-Newman has released a recording of what she claims is a private conversation with President Donald Trump after she was sacked.

The president said that Mark Burnett, who produced "The Apprentice", called him and assured him there are "no tapes of the Apprentice where I used such a awful and disgusting word as attributed by Wacky and Deranged Omarosa".

According to excerpts of her forthcoming memoir released to The Guardian, Omarosa said Mr. Trump used the "N-word" repeatedly during the taping of "The Apprentice" prior to his presidency, and she claims that there is a recording of his use of the slur.

"I don't have that word in my vocabulary, and never have", Trump insisted in tonight's tweets. "Now that she says bad about me, they will talk to her. Fake News!"

In a series of interviews on NBC, Manigault Newman also revealed two audio recordings from her time at the White House, including portions of a recording of her firing by chief of staff John Kelly, which she says occurred in the high-security Situation Room, and a phone call with Trump after she was sacked.

She described the tape on MSNBC's "Hardball" on Monday.

A recording Manigault-Newman secretly made of her firing shows the chief of staff citing 'some pretty, in my opinion, significant integrity issues'.

During the 2016 presidential campaign, Burnett faced pressure to release tapes from the set of "The Apprentice" after former contestants on the show alleged the footage would show Trump making vulgar comments.

Trump vows to double steel and aluminum tariffs on Turkey
The lira hit a record low of 6.24 per dollar on Friday, before recovering to 5.96, down more than 7 per cent on the day. Trump tweeted on Friday that he would be doubling existing tariffs on steel and aluminum imports from Turkey.

"She called me so many times", Trump said of Stefanik.

The US leader accused Ms Manigault Newman of "constantly missing meetings" and being "nothing but problems" during her short tenure in the US administration.

Lotter told Cheddar's J.D. Durkin that the White House has a strict no-phone rule in the building's most sensitive areas, and the Situation Room has lockers "right outside the door", where staffers are asked to leave their phones and other smart devices. "She never made it, never will", Mr. Trump said in a stream of angry tweets. She told Sean Spicer to stop calling on me.

Ms. Manigault Newman later expressed willingness to cooperate with special counsel Robert Mueller, who is investigating Russian interference in the 2016 election and possible collusion between Trump's campaign and Moscow - and indicated that she had already been contacted by his office.

Meanwhile, Trump's attorney, Rudy Giuliani, said on "Fox and Friends" Monday that Manigault Newman may have broken the law by recording private conversations inside the White House. Ouch! Her promotional tour is going to be a very short one if she keeps being rude to her interviewers.

That doublespeak went out the window with the Manigault Newman disclosures.

Manigault Newman answered, "Well, absolutely".

"He knew that John Kelly was going to take me into the 'Situation Room, ' and lock me in there, threaten me, and say that things were going to get ugly for me, and there would be damage to my reputation", Newman said of Donald Trump.
