Twitter Won’t Ban InfoWars Or Alex Jones Despite Violations Of Its Terms

Facebook

Business Insider spoke with Vimeo about the decision to pull the videos and learned that the videos were manually removed by Vimeo's Trust and Safety Team. Jones has since resurfaced on Real.Video, a video site that promotes free speech.

The 44-year-old saw his personal and InfoWars content removed from a host of the internet's biggest sites in an unprecedented series of bans this week. Zuckerberg felt removing the videos from the social platform was exactly what Jones wanted to bring more attention to himself.

Since founding InfoWars in 1999, Jones has managed to amass a massive audience. Thus, the social media site has taken to perhaps keeping on more controversial material than what other websites are willing to. Twitter has come under fire for not taking action against Jones and his InfoWars account while other tech companies have. The specific tweets that allegedly violated the rules were not revealed.

A number of platforms have recently suspended or removed content posted by Jones and pages tied to Inforwars for violating hate content policies.

Aretha Franklin is 'alert and laughing' at home
Franklin was awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom - the highest award for an American civilian - by then-president George W. Woods and others in the neighborhood say Aretha has always truly stuck to her roots.

Jones was also sued for defamation by the parents of two children who died in the 2012 Sandy Hook school massacre in CT in April.

Since being banned from livestreaming on YouTube, Jones has been streaming on Twitter and posting videos to Vimeo.

According to Business Insider, new videos uploaded Thursday and Friday violated the site's Terms of Service for "discriminatory and hateful content". Following a CNN investigation that claimed Jones has actually violated the rules numerous times, a Twitter spokesperson said seven of Jones' tweets out of the more than a dozen CNN presented did, in fact, violate Twitter's rules, CNN reported.

After Vimeo banned InfoWars, they reportedly notified Jones and gave him a refund, adding, "We do not want to profit from content of this nature in any way".
