Elon Musk’s next big idea: A tunnel to Dodger Stadium

Three proposed routes for the Dugout Loop a proposed underground railway between East Hollywood and Dodger Stadium is seen in a map provided by the Boring Company

Former SEC Chairman Harvey Pitt on the SEC investigation into Tesla CEO Elon Musk's tweet about potentially taking the company private.

Dubbed the "Dugout Loop," the project would transport fans from one of three existing subway stations to the stadium's parking lot on a zero-emissions electric "pod".

Known as the Dugout Loop, the 3.6-mile underground tunnel will connect to either the Los Feliz, East Hollywood and Rampart Village neighborhoods via the LA Metro Red Line.

However, to speed up the permitting process, The Boring Company says its tunnel will run entirely beneath "public right-of-way or land owned or leased by The Boring Company".

LA Mayor Eric Garcetti has been a huge proponent of Elon Musk's ventures.

Loyola Ranks Among Top Three Hospitals In State, According to U.S
News & World Report's are just one tool available to patients as they make informed decisions about their health care. The magazine on Tuesday released its highly respected rankings of national, state and regional hospitals.

Traffic congestion is a well-known problem in Los Angeles and becomes an even bigger issue in areas surrounding Dodger Stadium on game days. As for the other tens of thousands of people traveling to and from Dodger Stadium? Should the plan clear the numerous regulatory hurdles, it would take 14 months to complete, the company says. The company also promised to have no "above-ground disruption" during construction.

The company assures that noise from the tunneling will be basically undetectable from the street, as the tunnel will be 30 feet (9.1 meters) underground and deeper in some places if the tunnel might interfere with city infrastructure. Once finished, the tunnel will have electric skates traveling at 125-150 miles per hour, carrying 8-18 passengers each, for the cost of roughly $1 per ride (though the FAQ points out that the fares aren't finalized). The Boring Company will pay for all construction itself, without funding from the city. It is now undertaking environmental studies under the California Environmental Quality Act and plans a public scoping meeting on the project at Dodger Stadium at the end of August.

Musk's aptly named Boring Co. will dig a 3.6-mile tunnel to the stadium, which fans have notoriously found hard to access.

The company said it's working with L.A's Bureau of Engineering to start an environmental impact report.
