Jurgen Klopp hints at change of position for Fabinho

Real Madrid's Spanish defender Sergio Ramos salutes fans before the Santiago Bernabeu Trophy football match between Real Madrid and AC Milan in Madrid

Real Madrid captain Sergio Ramos has taken a swipe at Jürgen Klopp after the Liverpool manager accused him of having "a win at all costs mentality" following the Champions League final.

Mohamed Salah will be looking to pick up where he left off last season after scoring a record 32 Premier League goals, surpassing Cristiano Ronaldo's tally in 2008 with Manchester United.

The former Borussia Dortmund coach's latest comments were put to Ramos before Wednesday's UEFA Super Cup final against Atletico Madrid.

"When they go forward, Keita is going to cause all kinds of problems and actually create more space for the likes of Mane, Firmino and Salah".

The player said Klopp was trying to find an excuse for loosing the final after having lost six out of seven finals.

But Liverpool now have just four central defenders to call on: Virgil van Dijk, Joe Gomez, Joel Matip and Dejan Lovren - and if things get messy with injuries it could wreck Klopp's plans for the season very quickly.

Mourinho: Wait to see if Man Utd can contend
United starts the season just like it started the match: perfectly. "For me it's the first one and that's the most important". It's the last time I speak about it.

Whether Costa's challenge was intentional or not is anyone's guess.

Earlier during the Red's pre-season tour, the Liverpool boss hit out at Ramos once more insisting his harsh tackle that injured Salah was ruthless and unprofessional.

A war of words has continued through the months since the incident, with an unrepentant Ramos saying ahead of the summer's World Cup that Liverpool's complaints were way out of proportion.

Danny Higginbotham has said that Naby Keïta will add a new dimension to the Liverpool front line and that he will have already surprised a few people.

Gomez has the flawless opportunity in front of him to cement his name into Jurgen Klopp's plans, and he needs to seize this with some solid performances and clean sheets to match.

Whether Klopp yet again chooses to respond remains to be seen.
