Rose waits through day of rain

Justin Rose could become the world No 1 today without hitting a ball if rain once again blights the final round of the BMW Championship in Pennsylvania.

The plan is for groups of three to begin play at 7:30 am EST off two tees at a time.

If more than half the field completes the final round on Monday, only then the tournament would finish on Tuesday.

Shortening the BMW Championship, which determines the top 30 on the FedEx Cup standings who advance to the Tour Championship finale, would be a predicament for several players - particularly Jordan Spieth.

Fourth-ranked Rose would move to world number one for the first time in his career with a victory unless either top-ranked Dustin Johnson or second-ranked Brooks Koepka, who share 33rd after three rounds, have a two-way share of second.

Persistent rain on Sunday gave PGA Tour officials no choice but to postpone the final round at Aronimink in suburban Philadelphia until Monday.

Packers' Aaron Rodgers returns after knee injury
The Packers' defence, in new co-ordinator Mike Pettine's first game, held the Bears to two field goals in the second half. After Rodgers left the game in the first half, football fans were anxious he might be gone for the game, if not weeks.

Rose will play with Rory McIlroy (-16) and Xander Schauffele (-16), and those three will be chased by Rickie Fowler (-15), Tommy Fleetwood (-15) and Justin Thomas (-13).

For 54 holes, Woods is at 198, 12 under par.

Keegan Bradley might be there, too, all because of one putt. The Tour Championship was expected to be Spieth's 25 event, but now he'd fall short of reaching that mark.

"We would be here tomorrow and tomorrow is part of the tour regulations, so we will be here. the sad part is all we can do is take it one hour at a time". Players will be in threesomes off the first and 10th tees to try and avoid a Monday finish.

"I could start to feel the weather coming in and getting darker". If he doesn't qualify, Spieth would violate a recent policy requiring PGA Tour members to play a tournament they haven't been to in the last four years.

Fitzpatrick forced a playoff with Lucas Bjerregaard by making a shorter birdie putt on the same 18th green 20 earlier for a 3-under 67.
