What is somewhat unclear at this point is if the versions of Final Fantasy 7 and Final Fantasy 9 that are releasing for the Switch are the original versions or the upgraded editions.

Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles Remastered Edition had also already been announced, at a PlayStation event earlier in the week, but it will also be coming to Switch next year, complete with online multiplayer and new areas.

As for the rest of the event, Nintendo covered plenty more ground, most of which touched on previous announcements. It will be joined by the spinoff games World of Final Fantasy: Maxima on November 8 and Chocobo's Mystery Dungeon: Everybuddy! this winter.

5 dead in Bakersfield, California shooting rampage
Authorities said the suspect then went to a residence on Breckenridge where he shot and killed two more people. A gunman has killed five people, including his wife, in a string of shootings in southern California .

In a press release, Square Enix noted that FFVII, IX, X/X-2, XII, XV Pocket Edition and World of Final Fantasy will also release on the Xbox One.

Beginning with news that last year's remastered, rebooted Final Fantasy XII: The Zodiac Age will arrive on the hybrid console sometime in 2019, Nintendo then proceeded to unveil one Final Fantasy classic after another. Perhaps that's a good thing, considering that the game is being given a drastic makeover that will see the adventure play out across several upcoming releases. World of Final Fantasy Maxima will arive on November 6th.

Final Fantasy 7 is out now for PC, PS1, PS4, iOS, Android, and Nintendo Switch. Just one buddy at a time, though.
