Kavanaugh accuser willing to testify, her lawyer says

He repeated that denial again on Sunday through the White House. Kavanaugh has denied the allegations.

"This woman should not be insulted and she should not be ignored", Conway opened, before explaining the many options that the Judicial Committee - and ostensibly the White House - has in terms of hearing what Dr. Ford has to say.

The committee's Republican chairman, Chuck Grassley, scheduled a vote on Thursday on whether to recommend that the full Senate confirm Mr Kavanaugh for a lifetime appointment to the nation's highest court.

Republicans gave no indication on Sunday that they would do so.

Any potential defection by a Republican on a committee where the Republicans hold a one-senator majority could be fatal to Kavanaugh's nomination.

Senator Dianne Feinstein, the top Judiciary Committee Democrat, said a staff call on the matter wasn't adequate.

While Senate Democrats are again calling on Kavanaugh's vote to be delayed, the White House is also standing behind Kavanaugh, whom President Donald Trump tapped in July to replace the retiring Justice Anthony Kennedy. Watching is wife Ashley, with daughters Margaret, second from left, and Eliza.

Sixty-five women who knew Kavanaugh in high school have since come forward in a follow-up letter, defending him as someone who "always treated women with decency and respect". Her revelation of the letter has been questioned by both Democratic and Republican senators alike. Many Democrats have called for a delay in the vote, and a handful of Republicans have opened the door to that possibility.

Botham Jean was killed in his own home
But then around 5 p.m., the family's lawyers were alerted to some apparent breaking news in the investigation into Jean's death. Merritt says he's not sure what really went down last Thursday when he shot Jean in his own home - but he knows she's lying.

Senate Democrats, including New York Sen. Susan Collins, R-Maine, wouldn't say if the vote should be postponed.

Kavanaugh, she told the Post, pinned her to a bed at a Maryland party in the early 1980s, clumsily tried to remove her clothing and put his hand over her mouth when she tried to scream. She says both of them were falling down drunk at the time.

Ford's husband told the Post that she used Kavanaugh's name in the therapy sessions and anxious he would be nominated to the Supreme Court. Though Ford previously kept her identity confidential, she made a decision to speak out after the letter became public, which resulted in a public backlash, inaccuracies about her account and requests from journalists disrupting her privacy, the Post reported.

Right. This woman now coming forward alleges that Kavanaugh and his friend, a man by the name of Mark Judge is the one she's accusing here, corralled her into a back bedroom.

Part of the notes say that Ford told the therapist four boys were involved in the alleged attack, according to the Post, but Ford said this was written in error.

Ford said she remembers that it was in Montgomery County, not far from the country club, and that no parents were home at the time. Over the past few months, Ford has felt pressure on a personal level to share her story and has grappled with the idea, which partly prompted the letter, the source said.

Republican Senator Lindsey Graham of SC, also a Judiciary Committee member, said that if Ford wants to provide information to the committee, "I would gladly listen to what she has to say".

Christine Blasey Ford, Kavanaugh's accuser, wrote in a letter initially addressed in private to California Sen.
