Multiple people were stabbed at a day care in New York City

A knife attack has left multiple people wounded in a daycare center in Queens, New York, reports, citing police, say. She is in serious condition but her injuries are not considered life-threatening.

NY reports that authorities say the stabbings happened just before 4am on Friday.

Two baby girls and a baby boy were attacked by the woman, the officer said on condition of anonymity. Another man and a woman were also injured.

Her identity has not been released. It isn't clear whether his child was among those stabbed.

A 52-year-old woman was found in the basement of the home in the Flushing neighbourhood. The five victims were taken to area hospitals.

The unidentified worker stabbed two infant girls and one infant boy as well as a man, believed to be a father of one of the children, and a female coworker, police said.

Antonetti said that the attacker, who has not yet been publicly identified, then slashed her own wrists.
