Lacazette nets two as Arsenal crush Fulham

Craven Cottage Fulham

Andre Schurrle had brought Fulham level at half-time, but it is now five defeats in eight games for Slavisa Jokanovic's side, who have conceded 21 times in those matches this season.

Alexandre Lacazette will lead the line for Arsenal, with Danny Welbeck and Henrikh Mkhitaryan providing support from out wide.

The Gunners moved third on the table ahead of Chelsea's clash with Southampton, while Fulham remained 17th, two points above the relegation zone.

Arsenal manager Unai Emery brought on Aaron Ramsey in the 69th minute and within 40 seconds the Wales midfielder brilliantly made it 3-1.

Doubles from Alexandre Lacazette and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang - either side of Aaron Ramsey's stunning goal - saw Arsenal cruise to a ninth successive win in all competitions on Sunday.

Arsenal now have a 15-day rest before they resume league duties at home to Leicester City on October 22, three days before they head to Sporting CP in the Europa League.

The win was Arsenal's sixth in a row in the Premier League after opening losses to Manchester City and Chelsea.

However, Lacazette restored Arsenal's advantage four minutes into the second half as his 25-yard effort found its way past Fulham goalkeeper Marcus Bettinelli.

Monreal clipped his cross into Lacazette and the French striker left Tim Ream flat-footed with a nimble turn and close-range strike for his fourth goal of the season.

Fulham hit back against the run of play in the 44th minute.

It proved an inspired move as Ramsey sealed the points with a majestic finish in the 67th minute. From Ramsey's first little lift and Hector Bellerin's heel flick to Ramsey's delicious finish, that goal had it all. Aubameyang put the seal on Arsenal's stroll in the autumn sunshine in the 79th minute, deftly converting Bellerin's cross.

Earlier this month, Ramsey's representatives Avid Sports & Entertainment Group confirmed he is likely to depart as a free agent at the end of the season after the club chose not to continue discussions over a new contract.

The Gunners produced some wonderful football for the thumping victory.
