EU's Barnier calls for 'decisive progress' on Brexit for summit next week

Theresa May during the Tory conference

The flow of Brexit-centric headlines continues through the week, and the UK Times is out with notes on UK Prime Minister Theresa, who looks set to chain down her own Conservative party within the UK's parliament in an effort to push through a Brexit compromise.

Barnier is attempting to negotiate such a deal, but time is running out and European Union leaders have made it clear that they expect Britain's Prime Minister Theresa May to come up with a way to unblock talks before next week.

Kevan Jones, MP for North Durham, told the Financial Times he would wait to see what type of deal the Prime Minister returned with, but added: "I would not support no-deal because that would be disastrous both for my constituents and the country".

The party's 10 MPs have propped up the Tory government since May lost her Commons majority in the snap general election a year ago.

Foster is using her position as powerbroker in a bid to prevent any arrangement that would see checks on goods travelling between Britain and Northern Ireland, which she views as a threat to the constitutional integrity of the United Kingdom and the Northern Irish economy. They know where we stand.

However, the European Union says that means there must be some checks on goods coming into Northern Ireland in order to prevent those that do not meet European Union standards from going across in the Republic of Ireland and then reaching the continent.

Senior sources within the party told Sky News if Mrs May's breached their "blood red line" they would not vote for the budget on October 29.

PlayStation announce when you'll be able to change your PSN ID
Some PlayStation 4 games released before April 1, 2018 and all published after that date will support the feature. Here's another kicker and the key to why PSN ID changes have been such a struggle for PlayStation to implement.

One of the key things they have not yet agreed is how to prevent there being new border checks between Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland, which is a member of the EU.

A Brexit deal is "within reach" next week, European Union negotiator Michel Barnier said on Wednesday, even as he rammed home his insistence that Britain must accept possible checks on trade between its mainland and Northern Ireland.

Speaking to business leaders in Brussels, Mr Barnier said negotiators were "intensively" working to find a deal.

'My estimate is that there are at least 40 colleagues who are not going to accept a half-in, half-out Chequers deal or indeed a backstop that leaves us in the internal market and the Customs Union, come what may'.

"The only votes that she can depend on as leader of the Conservative party are Conservative ones".

Foster stressed that she wants to reach a Brexit deal and she is staying in Brussels for the next two days in order to try and find a solution that would be acceptable to her.

The British government and leading politicians in Northern Ireland insist they will not agree to a withdrawal treaty that foresees the possibility of Northern Ireland being kept inside the EU's economic area while the British mainland is not.
