BREAKING Storm Callum officially named as Weather Warnings upgraded to Orange for many areas

The wind warning was issued by Met Éireann at 10am for Donegal, Galway, Mayo, Sligo, Clare, Kerry, Dublin, Louth, Wexford, Wicklow, Meath, Cork and Waterford.

"Winds will remain very strong on all coasts tomorrow Friday, with a second swathe of damaging winds possible across the southeast during late Friday morning and early afternoon", he added.

"There is the also the risk of coastal flooding due to high tides and surge".

"An ORANGE level warning is issued by Met Éireann for wind speeds with the capacity to produce unsafe, stormy conditions which may constitute a risk to life and property".

Arriva is also cancelling services between Llandudno Junction and Blaenau Ffestiniog on both Friday and Saturday.

Finally, an updated Status Yellow wind warning was put into effect for counties: Carlow; Kildare; Kilkenny; Laois; Longford; Offaly; Westmeath; Cavan; Monaghan; Leitrim; Roscommon; Limerick; and Tipperary. Another bout of strong southerly winds will spread in during Friday night and last into Saturday but this won't be as bad as on Friday, just another windy day.

Director Stephen Stewart said: "Even though power cuts are rare, during times of heavy rain and flooding they become more likely".
