Samsung launches phones with quad, triple cameras

It's also been tipped to feature four rear cameras, and this is after all "A" Galaxy Event.

Blass's image includes some info about what each lens is for, although it doesn't go very far to convincing us that more cameras = better photos.

The Galaxy A9 smartphone from Samsung is believed to have been recently spotted in the Geekbench results under the SM-A9200 codename. The phone is powered by an octa-core processor with 6GB/8GB RAM and 128GB storage, which is expandable up to 512GB via a microSD card slot.

'Building on our legacy in smartphone camera development, we're introducing next-generation technology across our entire Galaxy portfolio to give more consumers the opportunity to experience cutting-edge innovation, ' said Samsung mobile chief DJ Koh to mark the launch.

Next up, there's an 8-megapixel telephoto sensor that should improve the quality of your zoomed photographs, similar to the 2x optical zoom found on the iPhone Xs. What we can say is that this is a feat of engineering that other companies will likely try to mimic or are already testing.

Hurricane Michael sets sight on Gulf Coast
Rick Scott called Michael a "monstrous hurricane" with a devastating potential from high winds, storm surge and heavy rains. The storm will also unleash flooding rain and destructive winds starting Tuesday night and continuing through Wednesday.

Samsung is expected to officially announce the Galaxy A9 on October 11.

Below it is the 24-megapixel primary sensor with f/1.7 aperture. From the always-on display and fast charging to the fingerprint sensor, facial recognition, and headphone jack, the phone keeps up with the Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9 Plus.

It will come in Caviar Black, Lemonade Blue and Bubblegum Pink. The Galaxy A9 (2018) starts at €599 in Europe and £549 in the United Kingdom (~$725). The Galaxy A9 (2018) would even be more expensive than the Pixel 2, which continues to be one of the best Android smartphones for photography and is still a solid recommendation.

The handset will be available for purchase in select markets starting from early November.

The story is breaking and will be updated shortly...
