The Board of Control for Cricket in India on Thursday announced a 15-member Indian team for the first two One-Day Internationals against West Indies.

It was only half an hour ago that Thakur, 26, was being presented his first Test cap - the 264th Test cricketer for India - by coach Ravi Shastri and he was kissing the India crest, celebrating his rise to five-day cricket after a first-class career that began in November 2012.

Pant has been called up by the selectors, who also went ahead with MS Dhoni.

Since then, Dhoni has only scored 156 runs from nine ODIs for India.

Waiting ends: Michael makes landfall with 155 miles per hour winds
The Suwannee Valley is expected to experience sustained 40-50 miles per hour winds with gusts up to 75 miles per hour . Warmer water acts as fuel for a hurricane , helping it develop into a more destructive, windier storm.

Windies have started their long tour of India that includes two Tests, five ODIs and three T20Is, in a losing cause after an innings defeat against the hosts only in three days.

However, his place in the side for now is not under concern as according to source in the BCCI, Pant could be a No.6 or a No.7 in the side. However, 33-year-old Dinesh Karthik, who failed to capitalise his opportunity in the Asia Cup, misses out.

While Dinesh Karthik is already there, his consistency and inability to finish matches at crucial junctures will keep the team management anxious.

Kedar Jadhav's dodgy hamstring will rule him out of the limited-overs leg which opens up one potential middle-order batting slot. Khaleel Ahmed has also been included on the back of some good performances at the recently concluded Asia Cup.
