Knicks Waive And Stretch Joakim Noah

The New York Knicks have released center Joakim Noah with two years and $38 million remaining on his contract, the National Basketball Association team said on Saturday.

Joakim Noah #13 of the New York Knicks warms up before the game against the Minnesota Timberwolves on January 12, 2018 at Target Center in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

The Knicks eventually confirmed the news via their PR team's Twitter account.

This is what to expect when Storm Callum hits Northern Ireland
Network Rail has advised passengers to check services before travelling because it expects some trains to be delayed or cancelled. That in itself is likely to bring disruption to roads and there is likely to be some bridge closures and power outages.

By using the stretch provision, the Knicks will add about $13 million in cap space to sign free agents next summer, according to the newspaper. Almost everyone predicted that the Knicks giving an injury-prone Noah a four-year, $72M deal when he was already 31 years old would be a mistake.

He averaged 4.6 points and 7.9 rebounds with NY and even after the arrival of new coach David Fizdale in May the team apparently had no interest in bringing Noah back. The bad outcome is that they'll be paying Noah $6.4 million annually until 2022. In two seasons with the Knicks he played just 53 games. The Knicks had hoped to trade him but no deal materialized, so they put the centre on waivers Saturday.
