Moroccan press calls for probe into Khashoggi case

President Trump warned the USA would inflict "severe punishment" if Saudi Arabia was behind his disappearance.

"There's a lot at stake, a lot at stake". He says if the kingdom doesn't buy its weaponry from the United States, they will buy it from Russian Federation.

Sir Richard Branson, the British billionaire who founded the Virgin Group, has suspended his position as director of two tourism projects in Saudi Arabia as well as his company's discussions over investment in two space projects.

Khashoggi has been missing ever since cameras captured him going inside the Saudi consulate in Istanbul on October 2.

Published reports based on anonymous sources say he was killed by the Saudis. A Saudi-owned satellite news channel has begun referring to the 15-man team as "tourists", without providing evidence to support the claim.

Saudi officials have denied any involvement in the disappearance of Khashoggi, saying he left the consulate shortly after entering.

"We would stop selling arms to Saudi Arabia in current circumstances until they changed their ways.We would be making it clear that we disagreed", she said.

Earlier, Saudi Arabia had quashed reports of the pressman's death.

On Tuesday, the Turkish foreign ministry said the Saudi consulate in Istanbul would be searched as part of the investigation.

Fourth-seeded Alexander Zverev of Germany also advanced to the quarterfinals by pasting Alex de Minaur of Australia 6-1, 6-4. Cecchinato looked most unsafe early on in the match, when he earned a couple of early break points on Djokovic's serve.

The prominent journalist, who was once close to the Saudi ruling family but grew increasingly critical of MBS' policies, especially after his self-imposed exile from Saudi Arabia in September 2017 to Washington DC.

Calls intensified this week on Capitol Hill for the Trump administration to take a hard line with the Saudi government if the investigation suggests it was involved in foul play.

Mr Trump, who has previously referred to journalists as "enemies of the people", said it was "really awful and disgusting" that a journalist had been targeted.

"I'll tell you what I don't want to do". A number of outlets, including Bloomberg, CNN, and CNBC have said that they won't be attending the event, but Mnuchin said, "I am planning on going if more information comes out and changes".

Upon noticing the watch, Khashoggi's assailants tried to unlock the Apple Watch with multiple password attempts, ultimately using the journalist's fingerprint to unlock the smart watch.

The newspaper, for which Khashoggi is a columnist, cited anonymous officials as saying the recordings show a Saudi security team detained the writer when he went to the consulate on October 2 to pick up a document for his upcoming wedding.

Technology experts say it is highly unlikely the watch could have recorded actions inside the embassy and uploaded them to an iCloud account.

Turkish officials have not answered queries from The Associated Press about Khashoggi's Apple Watch.

Mr. Trump said the USA will be "very upset and angry" if Saudi Arabia is responsible, noting that targeting a journalist is "something really bad and disgusting".
